Mason County Uses Kentucky VINE
The Kentucky Department of Corrections explains that VINE collects data from jail booking systems, prisons, and mental-health facilities. Its county-jail program lists Mason among the counties it serves. MCDC's own links page points to VINE as well. So a Kentucky VINELink custody check is the right tool for MCDC notifications.
Use it after an arrest. Its purpose is one known person. You need to know whether that person is in custody. It works well for release, transfer, or escape alerts. What it will not do is show an MCDC booking photograph. It also cannot replace a court docket, an arrest report, or the live jail roster.
Check a Person on VINELink
Start your search with the most precise identifier you have. A jail or offender ID beats a common surname. Match any result against the facility and custody context you expect.
- Open VINELink's Kentucky person search and confirm that Kentucky is selected.
- Choose the person or offender search, then enter a full or partial name or jail identification number.
- Review every possible result instead of selecting the first matching name.
- Compare the jail or location, identifying fields, and custody context with the MCDC roster.
- If both a local jail record and a Kentucky DOC record appear, the state FAQ advises registering for both.
- Select the correct entry before choosing the option to receive status-change notices.
A missing record does not mean no Mason County arrest happened. Timing, transfers, spelling, and system limits can all hide an entry. For a fresh MCDC booking, try the Mason County arrests last 24 hours route.
Note: Search results should be matched by more than a name before any alert registration is created.
Mason County VINELink Search Screen
The official Kentucky VINELink search opens with a person query, not a county mugshot gallery.

The captured search view shows the correct official starting point without reproducing booking photographs.
What Mason VINELink Shows
What you see depends on the agency and the record it holds. Treat each status as a snapshot in time. The listed location tells you which office can confirm it.
| Result field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name or offender ID | A search locator that must still be identity-checked. |
| Custody status | The status received from the participating agency. |
| Location | The reported jail, prison, or other participating facility. |
| Record source | Local jail or state corrections context when shown. |
| Notification option | The route to register for supported status changes. |
| No booking photograph | VINELink is not the MCDC mugshot source. |
| No court disposition | The service does not decide whether a charge ended in dismissal or conviction. |
Duplicate entries can appear when a person moves between local and DOC systems. That is normal, not an error. Kentucky guidance says to register against both records for full coverage.
Register Mason County Custody Alerts
Register only after you have selected the right person. Kentucky allows notice by phone or email. More than one phone number or email can be registered. Phone users pick a four-digit PIN to acknowledge calls.
- Select “Notify Me” from the correct offender result.
- Choose phone or email and enter a private contact point that can receive notices.
- Create the four-digit PIN for phone alerts and store it securely.
- Register against both the local and DOC entry if both apply.
- Use the official edit-registration path or Kentucky Victim Services to change or stop the notice.
Alert calls can come at any hour. They cannot be tied to a switchboard. If a call goes unanswered, VINE leaves a message and keeps calling through its notification window until the PIN is entered. The Kentucky Attorney General describes jail-release calls at 30-minute intervals for up to 24 hours or until acknowledged. State institutions may give notice up to 72 hours before release when possible. None of this guarantees a source record updates instantly.
Kentucky VINE Registration View
The official VINELink registration view follows selection of the correct custody result.

The screen shows the alert registration path. Never enter a personal phone, email, or PIN on a shared device.
The Kentucky DOC VINE information page covers telephone, email, PIN, and round-the-clock calling behavior.

The state instructions are the controlling source for how Kentucky notifications operate.
Mason County Alert Limits
VINE data can trail a new MCDC intake. The jail publishes no update interval for its roster. VINE adds its own transmission and processing delay. If a result is missing, check the spelling and identifiers first. Then search the official MCDC roster or call the detention center at 606-564-3621. A victim advocate can also help with the service.
VINE does not cover every custody system either. It cannot replace the federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator. Nor can it stand in for the ICE Online Detainee Locator after a federal transfer. It also gives no Mason County court disposition. Track a charge through the Mason Circuit Court Clerk. The official court system works too.
- Custody status
- The person's reported place and state of confinement at a point in time.
- Transfer
- A move between facilities or responsible agencies.
- Release alert
- A notice from VINE that still warrants official verification.
- Disposition
- The court's result, which VINE does not provide.
Note: VINE is not a safety guarantee; emergency danger belongs with 911 and a personal safety plan.
Verify Unexpected VINE Alerts
Kentucky published a restoration notice. A vendor problem had sent false release alerts in February 2026. The state says the system was taken offline and later restored. Personal data was never hacked or compromised. That lesson points to one local rule. Check any unexpected notice with the facility that owns the record.
The Kentucky VINE restoration notice documents that service incident.

Always confirm a Mason County release alert with MCDC or DOC before acting on it. For an MCDC entry, call the jail. For a state record, use Kentucky DOC or Victim Services at 502-564-5061 or 877-687-6818. Keep the offender ID, facility, and alert time at hand. Note the status too. A screenshot or forwarded message alone is not enough.
Local Apps Are Not VINELink
Mason County lists no official sheriff or MCDC booking app. MCDC links InmateSales for phone, video, and related services. That vendor is not a public arrest roster. Maysville Tip 411 is a tip channel, not a custody alert. Beware confusion with a Mason County in another state. Those apps have nothing to do with Mason County, Kentucky.
Use official VINELink for notifications. Use the MCDC roster for current local custody. Use the Mason County booking record hub for records and court paths. VINE is not a booking-photo source.
Registrants in Kentucky can edit their details through an official channel. If your phone number or email changes, update the registration. Do not hope the old contact still works. Kentucky Victim Services handles edits and cancellations when you need help. Guard your four-digit PIN. Never type it into a site that only looks like VINELink.
